Located in Al Bastakiya, the historical part of Dubai, XVA offers the largest exhibition space in Dubai. Unique for its Persian architectural heritage, its maze-like alleyways and proximity to the Creek, Bastakiya is viewed today as one of the cultural centrepoints of Dubai. Since 2003, XVA has been a meeting point for the cultural community of Dubai and visiting art collectors and tourists, contributing to raise the profile of the undiscovered Dubai through a rich cultural program. As part of its engagement with culture, XVA hosts the Bastakiya Art Fair, renamed in 2009 from the Creek Art Fair, animating the Bastakiya area and promoting creativity within it.
XVA’s gallery is a vibrant art space that exhibits a stimulating array of contemporary paintings, sculptures and art installations. Hosting approximately 10 exhibitions annually, XVA has captured the local and International art market’s attention since the gallery’s inception. XVA exposes the works of regional and international artists. Some of the artists featured at XVA are: Moussa Tiba, Malekeh Nayiny, Katia Al Tal Dana, Farideh Lashai, Halim Al Karim, Laudi Abilama, Mu’tassim Al Kubaissi, Hussein Al Mohassen, Reza Derakshani, Nelda Gilliam, Mohammed Ali Talpur, Mohammad Youssuf Ali, Farouk Lambaz and Mohammed Al Mahdi. XVA also focuses its agenda on promoting UAE artists and designers such as Gaia&Gino, Nada Debs and Numa.
XVA was featured in Condé Nast Traveller 2006 as the number 1 “Not To Miss” spot in Dubai.
