El museo se encuentra en un edificio de estilo republicano francés, construido en 1925 por el arquitecto belga Agustín Goovaerts y que por años sirvió de sede para la Escuela Urbana de Niñas.
Además de su colección y exposiciones intinerantes, el museo ha contribuido al desarrollo de la cultura regional, generando concursos, encuentros de teatro, recitales poéticos, semanas culturales y demás eventos artísticos que se han extendido al sudeste antioqueño. <p>

The museum, a house of the French Republican style, was constructed in 1925 for the Belgian architect Agustin Goovaerts and for years served as headquarters for the Urban School Girls. In addition to the collection and exhibitions, the museum has contributed to the development of regional culture, generating contests, theatre activities, poetry recitals, cultural seminars and artistic events that have extended to southeast Antioquia.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8am to noon, 2pm to 6pm; weekends 8am to 2pm
