"The distinctive pyramid shaped Southland Museum and Art Gallery is located in central Invercargill and features a wide range of exhibits and activities that will interest any visitor to the scenic South. These include a unique Roaring 40’s Galley featuring the Sub-Antarctic Islands, and the Burt Munro exhibit, this is a tribute to a Southern legend and land speed record holder. The largest public display of live tuatara's in the world is also here.

"The art galleries host a range of exhibits from national artists, to our community gallery which showcases our local talent. Set in picturesque Queens Park, the Southland Museum & Art Gallery is really something to be seen."
