"The Independence Hall plays a major role to collect, preserve, and display data; as well as educate the nation about Korean history. It also publicizes its data and produces and distributes various materials. In the future, when Korea unifies as one nation, it will fulfill its responsibility to reeducate the people about North Korea so that the citizens from both the North and South can recognize themselves as the people of one nation. In addition, I feel there is no doubt that the Independence Hall will be the spiritual womb that connects over 6.5 million Koreans worldwide. Now it is the time that we Koreans must recover from the damaged Korean spirit of our distorted history. Since the Independence Hall was built upon Korean spirit, we will put every effort to restore Koreans' pride hurt by the Chinese and Japanese distortion of our history."
