"The King Sejong Great Memorial Hall, located in Dongdaemun-gu and opened in October 1973, commemorates and preserves the various cultural and political achievements of King Sejong of the Joseon Dynasty. The two-story memorial hall contains 627 relics, has a total floor area of 2,475 sq. meters, and is located on an area of 13,200 sq. meters. It consists of four exhibition rooms: "Biography," "Hangeul" (Korean alphabet), "Science," and "Korean Music."

"The "Biography" exhibition room shows the achievements of King Sejong during his reign of 32 years over 14 strips of drawings painted by artist Kim Hak-Su. The "Hangeul" exhibition room displays over 100 works of treasured literature relating to the development of Hangeul that were written either during or after King Sejong's reign. It also displays the works of literature King Sejong looked up to invent Hunminjeongeum, rubbed copies of the letters of foreign languages, and other artifacts showing mechanization of Hangeul. The "Science" exhibition room houses press-related artifacts that revitalized the press and publication process during King Sejong's reign and other inventions. The "Korean Music" exhibition room displays about 70 musical instruments, musical scores, musical books, and clothes of musicians and dancers, which are very helpful to understand Korean music of those days.

"In addition, 37 stone monuments including Supyo (which means watermark) (Treasure No. 838), "Sejong Daewang Sindobi" (the monument erected to commend King Sejong's accomplishments, designated as a tangible cultural property of Seoul), Cheukugi (rainfall gauge), and sundial are displayed outside the Memorial Hall. Because there are well-arranged trees and lawns around the Memorial Hall, it is also a perfect place for a picnic."
