El Museo del Grabado nació en el año 1960 por iniciativa privada del Profesor Oscar Carlos Pecora, con la intención de crear el primer museo dedicado en exclusividad a esta temática. Años más tarde la importante colección privada fue generosamente donada al Estado Nacional y en el año 1983 se transformó en el Museo Nacional del Grabado, funcionando por entonces en diferentes sedes en la ciudad de Buenos Aires, hasta su traslado a este edificio. La misión del museo es atender la custodia, conservación, investigación, difusión, promoción y desarrollo del arte del grabado.

El Museo del Grabado born in 1960, by private initiative of Professor Carlos Oscar Pecora, with the intention of creating the first museum devoted exclusively to this subject. Years later the important private collection was generously donated to the National State and in 1983 became the National Museum of Printmaking, then working at different locations in the city of Buenos Aires until his transfer to this building. The museum's mission is to attend the custody, conservation, research, dissemination, promotion and development of the art of engraving.
