El Museo del Carnaval del Uruguay se inscribe dentro de los llamados “museos de la identidad”. Pretende valorizar al Carnaval como parte singular del patrimonio cultural intangible mediante la conservación, protección, documentación, exhibición y difusión de colecciones que ilustran el patrimonio que constituye el Carnaval del Uruguay. Es un museo interactivo donde la oferta museística se ajusta a las necesidades del presente: potenciarlo como lugar de ocio donde el público pueda aprender a la vez que disfrutar y divertirse.
The Carnival Museum of Uruguay is part of the so-called "museums of identity." It aims to celebrate the Carnival as a unique part of intangible cultural heritage through the conservation, protection, documentation, exhibition and dissemination of collections that illustrate the heritage that is the Carnival of Uruguay. It is an interactive museum where the museum offers to meet the needs of the present: as a place of leisure where the public can learn while they enjoy and have fun.
