cvltvre.com has been developed as a research project in the Lab for the Study of Cultural Complexity (www.culturalcomplexity.net) at The University of Western Ontario, Canada. The project aims at understanding the behaviour of people around culture in the digital age, and also at tracking the changes in the relations of human beings with their cultural experience.
For that, we have built a powerful platform that offers the best of the Web 2.0 —interactive information sharing, interoperability, user-centered design and collaboration— through a set of interesting tools that will help the user easily to: create collaborative albums of the most beautiful places in the world (Sites & Sights), post, share and search for events organized with a great categorization (Events), travel to the most content-rich museums in the world (Museums), search the world's cultural map (Map), connect and browse different but related cultural objects into single user-designed paths (Connections), create special pages devoted to cultural and artistic issues or institutions (Pages), share their thoughts and writing (Blogs), read cultural news from newspapers all around the world (News), participate in an international cultural Community, and exchange ideas and experiences with friends, groups, and cvltvratis through the internal messaging system (Messages).
cvltvre.com wants to become the place where creative people meet. cvltvre.com's platform enables the cvltvrati to share their creations and experiences, and to meet others who also enjoy photography, travel, fashion, design, art, books, music, and history. In cvltvre.com, you will find inspiration, beauty and knowledge. The diverse individuals and peoples of the world come to cvltvre.com to showcase the ways in which culture shapes their human experiences.
Born out of our passion for people and the different forms in which they express themselves, the objective of cvltvre.com is to make culture available to the world. In cvltvre.com, we combine our experience as researchers with the inspiration we receive in our daily lives from artists, creators, writers, and musicians to provide a unique cultural product for the cvltvratis of the world.
